Welcome to the temporary home of the Molecular Biology Lab course (M116L) for Spring 2026. Till the Canvas issue gets resolved, this (and the Ed Discussion board) is where all important information, updates, etc. will be posted. Please make sure to check this site regularly (since there isn't a mechanism for me to push announcements!). You will be responsible for all information and deadlines that are posted here and on the Ed Discussion board. I know that this is a stressful time for you all, and rest assured that I'm on it, and will make appropriate adjustments to account for this unforeseen issue.

However, I don't want you all to use this as an excuse to slack off. I will still expect you to complete your assignments on time (as if Canvas were working!). Once Canvas starts working, I will send out an announcement and you will only have a couple of hours to upload all your completed assignments into Canvas — so if you were not keeping up with your work, your assignments might very well be marked late, and "Canvas was down" will not be an accepted excuse.

This website should have all the basic information you need to stay on track, but if there's anything missing, please let me know on the Discussion board and I will upload it here for you to access.

Other than the stress of this nonsense, I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying working in lab and discovering cool things about microbiomes in yogurt (and whatever experiment your lab section is doing this week!).
